Seeds-int , as part of the Social Innovation in Marginalized Rural Areas(SIMRA), funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Programme, is launching a call for interested Innovation actions to present their projects in development during the 6th Mediterranean forest week that is going to be held in Lebanon April 1 to 5, 2019.

We mean by social innovation “the reconfiguring of social practices in response to societal challenges that seek to enhance the outcomes on societal well-being and necessarily include the engagement of civil society actors. SI aims to increase human wellbeing, responding to social demands that markets for existing institutions do not traditionally address. Through SI, diverse actors, including civil society, entrepreneurs, and policy makers, create or reconfigure social arrangements or networks, with the goal of enhancing development outcomes with respect to the economy, society and the environment.

SI can introduce new solutions to challenges faced by rural areas, especially those considered to be marginalized. To link SIs with desired policy outcomes, account needs to be taken of local conditions and intermediating factors, to make better use of SIs for the development of marginalized rural areas.S

Should you meet these criteria, kindly fill the attached application of your Social Innovation project on forests and send it by e-mail to info@seeds-int. org
