Social Innovation in Forests through Digital Communication

The Social, Economic, Environmental Development SIMRA BDD SIMRA interviewsimra pictures Services (SEEDS-Int) hosted the “Social Innovation in Forests through Digital Communication” meeting at Beirut Digital District, the 9th of August 2017.
The meeting was attended by key players in the Forestry sector in Lebanon and aimed to introduce SIMRA – Social Innovation in Marginalised Rural Areas project and to launch the Mapping of Social Innovation cases in the Lebanese forest through the project. SIMRA is funded by the Horizon 2020 and is a project seeking to advance understanding of social innovation and innovative governance in agriculture, forestry and rural development, identifying the way to boost them, particularly in marginalized rural areas across Europe, with a focus on the Non- EU Mediterranean region where there is limited evidence of outcomes and supporting conditions.
The project seeks to raise awareness on Social innovation cases, identify potential actions for support and analysis, while also contributing to researching Social innovation reviews within various scopes.
